Yeah, I had enough time last night to finish the piecing on "Some Bunny Loves Me." It's now in the pile with the 2 baby boy tops to be basted this weekend. However, I was looking in my UFO pile and came across THIS quilt that just needs the binding finished. It's perfect (IMO :-)) for one of the baby boys coming in August, so I'm going to finish binding it this weekend and prep the label (I don't know the baby's name yet) so it will be ready come August. I think I'll use the construction trucks for the other August baby and put aside the trains for a future boy.
I also made plans to have a sewing night with a friend this Friday. Her daughter has a teen activity with the youth group at church, so her hubby's going to have a boys night with the two boys, which leaves her free to hang with me :-). Or maybe I should reverse that - she's hanging with me so that leaves the boys and daddy on their own :-). As long as I have my camera batteries charged, I should be able to get some pics.

Joining Judy's UFO challenge
UPDATED 2/3/2011 - some have pictures!
I'm joining up! Here's my 12 UFO's for Judy's UFO challenge. There's a chance at some point I may get too antsy and do one ahead, but never fear, I've got plenty of UFO's on deck. :-)
1. pink baby pins quilt as you go project. (some quilting done)

2. Bubba's football quilt (some quilting done)
3. sea life quilt (ready to bind)
4. pink/yellow/green/white YBR baby quilt (some FQ's cut)
5. Dad's Christmas/Fall placemats (finish binding 3)
6. Zoo Parade (finish binding) (front & back shown - reversible quilt, sorry forgot to rotate the pictures)

7. Snowman wallhanging (ready to baste - picture shows it not quite pieced all the way)

8. Button Christmas Tree wallhanging (assembling)
9. Christmas tree table topper (some piecing complete)
10. piecing Dad's star struck quilt (some blocks made)
11. quilt-as-you-go Dad's star struck quilt (some blocks made)
12. assembling & binding dad's star struck quilt (some blocks made)
#'s 10, 11, 12 are interchangeable. Obviously I can't quilt until I've pieced and I can't assemble/bind the quilted blocks until I've quilted.
Comprehensive exam is next week (8th), so until then a plain list will have to suffice. Once I'm done with comps, I'll update this post with pictures.

A Finish!
I stayed up to sew the label on. I finished binding it last night. It was the quilt I made at my very first Quilt Retreat - almost two years ago! I finished piecing it at retreat, but did not know how I wanted to quilt it. I ended up taking it to NC with me last summer to do at my aunt's. However, I ran out of time and it was one I had to leave there. She quilted it for me and got the leftovers all sent home. And there it sat, for several months, lol. I pulled it out for Peeps retreat, sewed the binding to the front, but never got it sewn to the back. Well, it's done now, labeled, and awaiting to meet its new owner. I left a message for my friend, so hopefully I'll be able to get together with her soon to gift it. It is for her daughter who will be two in the fall.

Waun-a-Finish UFO list
Here goes ... I may have to add later. School's been kicking my butt so I haven't been able to do much of anything since retreat :-(
1. Dino quilt - bind/label (for Bubby)
2. Football quilt - applique/quilt/etc. (for Bubba)
3. RD baby girl - label & gift
4. AD baby boy - cut, needs sewng
5. Zoo Parade - bind/label (when returned from my Aunt)
6. Thangles 2009 ketchup
7. Thangles 2008 ketchup
8. Big C's Denim/Flannel rag quilt - partially cut
9. Bind - pink baby quilt
10. Bind - scrappy pastels baby quilt
11. label - Rachel's sunshine
12. frog/bind - bright sea life
13. Sleepytime baby quilt - ready to baste/quilt
14. Jan Stash Pot Pie Quilt - needs applique/baste/quilt
Who knows what else I've got half started????
I'm in the midst of organizing my sewing room and I can't believe all the fabric I've accumulated, including fabric for skirts. I'm amazed at everything I kept pulling out of the spare room closet. I have a roomie moving on Friday so I have to have everything out of storage from in there. I can't believe all the stuff I've accumulated. Apparently I suffer from the out of sight, out of mind, let's buy more syndrome.
